Before You Were Born I Knew You

The following is a letter that I am going to put into a card to give to random strangers I meet. I bought some blank greeting cards with a scripture on the front. I am going to put a simple personal message on the inside that says, "I care about where you spend eternity" with my name, blog address and phone number. The idea is to keep them in my car and my purse and follow the spirit prompting on who to give them to. Maybe in the grocery store line or the waitress at a restaruant, where ever God prompts. Feel free to steal my idea...

My Child,

Before the sun and moon shone, before the stars twinkled in the sky, even before the earth had an axis, I knew you. Before all things began, I spoke your name and the angels applauded.

I knew the color of your hair and the shape of your eyes. I knew the smile you would have and the kind of heart you would carry. I knew all these things because you were already mine. Even then you belonged to me.

I waited many years for you. As the day finally arrived of your birth, heaven buzzed with excitement. The angels praised, as I paced the floor in anticipation and the time ticked off in waiting. I heard the cry come as you gasp your first breath on the earth. I watched anxiously as all your fingers and toes were counted. My child was born and all of heaven rejoiced.

You see I know all these things because I planned you. I am your Father and you my beloved are my favorite child. I sit on high in my heavenly realm and watch over you. Nothing passes by my eyes that concerns you. I see all things good and bad. I know what plans I have for you and they are all for good.

I am all things. I am the beginning and the end. I am the first and the last. I am the almighty God. I put the whole earth into motion, created all things, though many dispute it. I was there before all things and I will endure when all things pass.

I am giving you this note today to tell you, I have missed you. I have waited so long to be with you. After the fall of man and sin entered this world I could no longer walk the earth with you. I can not look upon sin you see and you would perish to look on me with sin in you. But I took care of things. I sent my son Jesus to change the course of man. Only, they spat on Him, mocked Him and nailed Him to a cross.

I made the earth shake that day and I tore the veil of the temple built for me in two from top to bottom. Then three days later, I did the impossible and rose Him up from the dead. He is alive and well, living with me now.

Those that meant to kill my son were fooled. What they meant for evil, I used for good. You see, His death and resurrection paid the price for you. You were always the one I wanted, so I sent my son to pay your price for you.

Now I must ask. After I have done such a thing for you, what have you done with my son Jesus? Do you know Him? I sent Him so you could come home to me one day. But the only way back home to Me is through Him. Without Him living inside of you, you will never see me or be with me. Instead you will live eternally away from me in the place I have prepared for those that choose to do evil. That place is Hell. So I must ask again, what have you done with my son? Will you go talk to Him? He is only a prayer away.

When you lay your head down tonight I will be watching and He will be waiting. He waits for you to invite Him in. Call His name and He will hear your prayer.

In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says: Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.

With Love,
Your Heavenly Father

Hi Sherri. Nice to meet you.

First of all love the 'No Pressure' message on your sidebar. It is ALL His, so I'm glad to see you don't worry about it. Your identity is in Christ, not your blog, so I'm glad you came to terms with that.

Second; Awwwwww, what a cute photo of the baby!!!!! Your's?

Anywho, I love your idea; it's very brave and very noble of you.

I will check here again to see the responses from the strangers that you hand these beatiful cards to.

What a powerful post you wrote sister, also about the cards it is a very good idea.

About your "No pressure" when a christian is blogging for GOD and not for the peoples then HE decide what people will visit the blog, and for that reason He will always provide you the exact words to be written for that specific person that need that word.Christian blogging is like preaching in churches.

I also manage a christian blog for depressed peoples, my goal is to let know these peoples that the only anti-depressor they need is "Jesus Christ" if you want to check it out feel free to visit http://myowndepression.com

Sherri,
What a beautiful letter to introduce someone to the love of Jesus or remind them of His love. Whereever they are in their life.
I belive God gave you these words and will use them for His Kingdom.

I love how blogs take on a life of their own. I like your "No Pressure" statement. When I started blogging, I had one idea about what I wanted my blog to be. It's morphed a little over time. But I do want to honor God with it and point people towards Jesus.
If you read that book "Same kind of different as me" you will be blown away by it. I can tell you have a sensitive heart and this book will speak to you.
I'm glad you came by to visit me and I look forward to many shared post in the future.
Blessings,

Joy

Hi Sis,
What a beauitful way that you have chosen to witness th those we pass by each day. I know it will be a blessing and touch a heart that recievs it. The Lord wants us to go out of the four walls of the church and be a witness unto those who probably won't enter into a church.

Sherri,

What a GREAT idea!!!!! I AM going to "steal" it! I am not "good" at striking up conversations with strangers about Jesus. What a great way to share Jesus with them.

At Christmas, I do something similiar with salesclerks, but never thought to do it all year long. And, with waiters- AWESOME. We always leave a good tip and are very kind, but this is an awesome way to take it a step further. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for following my blog. I'm excited to share encouragement with you!

Blessings!

Blessings Sherri...I was here before and thought I left a comment letting you know what an awesome &
great idea this is to use this beautifully written letter. It is so much like the Father's Letter.

I was and am moved beyond tears into action!!!

I hope you don't mind but I linked this to my Mission 4 Monday!

It is so fabulous, I believe everyone should see it. So much so that if you don't object I would love to do something and link again on Word Filled Wednesday. I won't use your photo but will send people here.

Let me know if that's alright. I will choose a photo & put my memory verse of Jeremiah 29:11 and refer to this letter rather than Father's Love Letter...I have that at the bottom of my main blog.

Yes, I will be posting the reactions I get from those I give it too. So look for it next week.

Peggy, feel free to link to and use the letter. I write what God gives me to use for the Kingdom.
I pray others will read it, use it and it changes lives.

Gods Bless!

Thank you Sherri! I will look forward to hear how it has been received by the recipients. I'm sure it's varied. Yet I know seeds have been planted unless they never read it(which is sad). Let us pray for each one to be read and fall on fertile open ground to be tilled!

This is awesome and a wonderful idea!! I can't wait to read your reactions from others.

I was thinking of doing this with my neighbors--just leave this in their mailbox. Whenever I see someone outside (I live in an apartment complex) I always say, "Hello, how are you today?" Usually, no response. I keep on saying this and maybe someday they'll see that I really do mean this!! Or maybe when I say hello I should hand them this also.

Wonderful idea of spreading the Word!!

I read "No Pressure" and the words spoke to my heart. I started a blog (asacredgift.com) a few months ago to help people see the incredible gifts that the Lord gives each of us every day. I have been praying for the Lord to send readers. You have helped me realize that all I have to do is write what I feel He wants me to write and not worry about how many He will send to read the words.

Thank you, Sherri.
